Tyrannosaurus
TYRANNOSAURUS REX
Carnivore
40 feet long, 6.3 tons
At Guilford Courthouse National Military Park

Arguably the largest meat eater ever to walk the Earth. His large head is equipped with 8-inch serrated teeth set in bone-crushing jaws that can tear off 500 pounds of flesh at a time. He walks on powerful hind legs with strong talons. Some paleontologists think the T. Rex is a scavenger as well as a hunter. If you happen to be at the park and this monster wants your picnic lunch, give it to him.
